In an interview posted to Youtube and conducted during the album launch party in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Kanye West sat down with Big Boy to talk about the ye, his recent controversies, and his mental health, briefly.
On the name of the album, Kanye connects it to biblical significance. "I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible, it means ‘you.' So I’m you, I’m us, it’s us."
He also said that while making the album, he went back to the drawing board after his comments on TMZ. "I completely redid the album after TMZ," he explained.
He also shared that he was diagnosed, at the age of 39, with bipolar disorder. He spoke with Big Boy about how making music has been a key tool in dealing with his "mental issues." He explained: "I'm so blessed and so privileged because think about people that have mental issues that are not Kanye West, that can't go and make that."
