Brian Jordan Alvarez, the multi-talented actor/writer/director, is the creator of some of my favorite things on the whole damn internet. His short videos are insanely creative, hilarious, and queer; and his YouTube series, The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo, is probably one of the best series I've seen in the last few years (on any platform!). Plus, he introduced the world to Freckle.
On Wednesday, Alvarez surprise dropped a new full-length film called Grandmother's Gold. It's about a not-so-distant future, where there's no internet allowed and the economy has crashed. Like all of his other work, things get freakier from there, so I won't spoil it. The film also stars his frequent collaborator Stephanie Koenig and Ken Kirby, who are both excellent.
The full film is above and you should really watch it. Please give Brian Jordan Alvarez all of the funds necessary to keep making his oddball works of art.
