Vogue has revealed its September Issue cover featuring Beyoncé and a rare interview to accompany it. Beyoncé was reportedly given “unprecedented control” over the issue and hand-picked 23-year-old photographer Tyler Mitchell to shoot the cover. Mitchell is the first African American photographer to shoot a Vogue cover in the magazine's 126-year history.

The cover story has arrived online and, for an artist as elusive as Beyoncé, reveals a great deal. She speaks extensively about her body and how her "core felt different" after giving birth to twins via C-section. "Whenever I’m ready to get a six-pack, I will go into beast zone and work my ass off until I have it," she says. "But right now, my little FUPA and I feel like we are meant to be."

Elsewhere in the piece Bey talks about discovering that she is descended from from a slave owner who fell in love with and married a slave, preparing to headline Coachella, the highlight of her and JAY-Z's On The Run II tour, and how she views her legacy. Check out the full story here.
