The L.A. rapper has been behind bars since March, maintaining his innocence on charges of murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy.

Since March, Drakeo The Ruler has been sitting in L.A. County Jail, awaiting the beginning of his pre-trial hearings on the charges of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, and a count of conspiracy to commit murder. In a phone interview with Jeff Weiss in April, Drakeo maintained his innocence and asserted that the charges are the result of being personally targeted by the LAPD because of his fame. He noted the inconsistencies in the case and said that the LAPD had gotten his mother, a pre-K teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District, fired from her job. Meanwhile, his pre-trial hearings continue to be pushed back, along with the opportunity to make bail, as he faces life in prison.

Despite all of this, the South Central rapper remains in good spirits: he continues to interact with fans on social media, who call for his release with hashtags, released a new EP from behind bars in April, and recently had a song featured on the new season of HBO's Insecure. Today, Drakeo shares a new video for "Roll Bounce," a standout track from his 2017 project Cold Devil. "'Listen lil nigga life is like a game of chess,'" Drakeo told The FADER over email, quoting the song. "I just bought my son a bussdown Rollie from in here too. Roll Bounce on my neck still, Free Me!"

Drakeo's pre-trial hearing is now scheduled for September 18. Find Drakeo's mailing address below and watch the new video for "Roll Bounce" above.
