Ryan Coogler will begin writing the sequel to Black Panther next year, THR reports. Coogler — who is currently gearing up for the release of Creed II starring Michael B. Jordan — has signed a deal to write and direct Black Panther 2, after months of speculation. THR also reports that production for the sequel will most likely begin in 2019 or 2020.
Black Panther released this past February, and was met with both critical and commercial acclaim — earning a staggering $1.3 billion worldwide, and $700 million domestically. The film's soundtrack also received notable praise, and was curated by Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment.
