Tonight, the 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards aired on television. The ceremony took place in Miami two weekends ago, and shortly after, word broke that Vic Mensa dissed XXXTentacion in a prerecorded segment for the program. XXX was awarded Best New Artist during the show, which his mother Cleopatra was there to accept on his behalf (Mensa later offered his condolences to her). Now, the freestyle is here in full.
In the segment, Mensa raps alongside G Herbo, Taylor Bennett and Nick Grant, saying “only time you bear arms is in a wife beater, loser / Your favorite rapper's a domestic abuser... I don’t respect [censored] posthumously, homicide ain’t new to me, catch up with Akademiks at your eulogy.” Watch it in full here.
