These Toronto ballroom looks are freaking gorgeous

Blaring red, shiny black, and a few antlers for good measure.

This Saturday, FADER spent the evening at Pump The Beat Live: The Great Canadian Ball. Hosted by Red Bull Music Festival, the event celebrating Toronto’s flourishing ballroom scene took place in the historic Art Moderne halls of The Carlu. According to our staff on the ground, the energy was high all night, with contestants and audience members spilling out of the ballroom to perform their routines in the lobby. But the event wasn't anything-goes — a few stragglers were kicked off the stage for walking in the wrong category, or just not taking things seriously. Categories included Best Dressed and Realness, and contestants brought their damn best. Abundant were looks featuring blaring reds and blistering blacks in all kinds of materials, with a few contestants sporting antlers. Others also wore flips of the Canadian flag in coordination with harnesses, belts, and elbow length gloves. All in all, a a stellar night of looks.
