Trap House Jazz ambassador Masego has recently been on the road to support his latest album Lady Lady. Seeing how he's won over crowds of fans through his live shows and personal, highly danceable tracks, The FADER talked to him about four songs that were highly impactful in informing his artistry.

Masego starts with John P. Kee's sermons, which got him excited about the potential for his stage presence and looping his own voice. Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right" found a special place in his heart when he pushed to have his marching band perform the song at games, planting the idea of doing something special for the live renditions of his music. "Soulmate" by Natasha Bedingfield left Masego feeling some type a way when a crush mysteriously moved away, teaching him the pain of longing for someone. And finally Loreen's "I Go Ego" opened his mind to focusing on sound design and creating theatrical pieces.
