Sky Ferreira's long-awaited follow-up to her 2013 album Night Time, My Time could be out soon. On Instagram, the songwriter shared a self-portrait with a caption reading "this winter" followed by "it is official (!)"
Ferreira announced a new album titled Masochism, in a 2016 Playboy feature. Since then she's also said she would share a visual EP this year – it's unclear whether the impending release is related to either of these projects. In 2017 Ferreira said her new music had previously been "stuck at the mercy of other people." That year she released a cover of "Easy" by The Commodores from the soundtrack to the film Baby Driver and performed "The Two of Us" with The Jesus & Mary Chain on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Her cover of "Voices Carry" by 'Til Tuesday was released this year.
