Beyoncé and JAY-Z won the 2019 BRIT Award for Best International Group, and the duo known as The Carters accepted their award in front of a portrait of Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.

The 30-second clip, streaming above, features the pair looking at the camera with the painting behind them, an homage to the video for "Apeshit" from the album Everything Is Love. "Thank you so much to the BRIT Award for this incredible honor," Beyoncé says to the camera at the start of the video. "You guys have always been so supportive. Everything is love, thank you." JAY-Z then follows up with "You're welcome" before they turn and face the portrait. Off camera, a young child, presumably one of their three children, says "Why?"

The use of Markle's image may be the Carters subtly expressing their support: British media has been more critical of Markle than other royals in recent months.
