Green Book has garnered box office success and critical acclaim, but some believe the movie contains a milquetoast and, given the urgency of contemporary politics, unedifying depiction of racism. It's up for five major awards at the 2019 Oscars, including Best Picture, and Desus & Mero capture the dissonance perfectly in a very funny sketch for their new Showtime series. Desus is the Don Shirley character (originally played by Mahershala Ali) while Mero does his best Italian accent as Viggo Mortensen's Tony Vallelonga. It's a strong routine that reminds me of The Chris Rock Show, and that's a really good thing. Watch above.
