Yesterday afternoon, Lil Uzi Vert quietly came out of retirement by dropping "Free Uzi." Now, the single has been pulled from streaming platforms. TMZ reports the track was removed due to licensing issues over its usage of G Herbo's "Gangway." DJ L, who produced "Gangway," later posted a screenshot of the story, writing "I Own This Beat 100 percent...@liluzivert can do whatever the fuck he wanna do to the gangway instrumental." Currently, the song remains on SoundCloud and YouTube.

"Free Uzi" arrived following a week of public discord between Uzi and Generation Now label heads DJ Drama and Don Cannon over the release of Eternal Atake. In a statement to The FADER, Atlantic Records wrote that "Free Uzi" was "a leaked record" and "not official," while declining to speak on whether Uzi leaked the track himself. The Philly rapper recently appeared on Roc Nation's website's artist management roster.

Representatives for Lil Uzi Vert, Apple Music, and Tidal were not immediately available for comment.
