Come skate with Patience in her “Living Things Don’t Last” video
Debut album Dizzy Spells is out on Friday.
"Living Things Don't Last" is the latest taste of bedroom synth-pop act Patience's upcoming debut album Dizzy Spells. Recorded in Los Angeles with U.K. garage icon Todd Edwards, the song uses Clifford's cut-glass British accent to call to mind New Order's more heartwarming moments, or a more polite Chromatics. The song is a battle cry in the face of apathy from the former Veronica Falls member, and will hopefully prompt you to make the most of your day/week/year.
The video for the song, premiering above, meanwhile is filled with footage of Clifford taking a soothing and mesmeric rollerskate ride through L.A. Check it out now.
Speaking to The FADER via email, Clifford said of "Living Things Don't Last": "When I rollerskate my mind goes somewhere else completely and I fall into a sort of trance like state of content. I wanted to conjure up this feeling in the visual which acts as a simple and hypnotic companion to the song. The footage was shot from a car window and shows me endlessly skating around Silverlake reservoir at dusk."
Dizzy Spells is out on May 3. Patience plays an album launch show at LA venue Gold-Diggers that same night and a newly announced London gig at Moth Club on June 18.
