Game of Thrones, the long-running HBO fantasy saga that’s captured the attentions of basically everyone in the Western world over the past decade, has finally come to an end. As such, the cast and crew have been on a major blitz over the past few weeks, publicising the show to no end and revealing some fascinating tidbits along the way.
One such tidbit came from Emilia Clarke, who revealed to The New Yorker that one particular superfan gave her pause when feeling Game of Thrones’ final season: Beyoncé.
According to Clarke, Beyoncé geeked out over Daenerys at an Oscars afterparty hosted by herself and JAY Z. “Beyoncé just says to me ‘Oh my goodness, it’s so wonderful to meet you. I think you’re brilliant,’” the Thrones star told the magazine.
Beyoncé’s adoration meant so much to Clarke, in fact, that it worried her that the singer would have to see Daenerys eventually turn towards tyranny and darkness in the show’s final season. “All I wanted to scream was ‘Please, please still like me even though my character turns into a mass killing dictator,’” Clarke explained. I wonder how Beyoncé felt about the finale?
