Ariana Grande has revealed the unlikely reason she was forced to axe shows in Tampa and Orlando this week. Her throat closed up due to an allergic reaction to a tomato.

Live Nation announced two shows on the Sweetener World Tour were being pushed back earlier this week and Grande offered an insight into the reasons via Instagram. “We discovered ….. that ….. i had an unfortunate allergic reaction to tomatoes and my throat pretty much closed,” she wrote. “Still feels like i’m swallowing a cactus but slowly making progress! thank u all for your love and understanding.”

Grande adds, “p.s. there is NOTHING MORE UNFAIR THAN AN ITALIAN WOMAN DEVELOPING AN ALLERGY TO TOMATOES IN HER MID TWENTIES.”

The dates affected by the illness have been rearranged for November 24 (Tampa) and November 25 in Orlando.
