British-based producer Juls has shared the video for his new song "Maayaa." The track is dedicated to Maya Angelou and features vocals from rising star Santi and Londoner Tiggs Da Author. Its video, premiering above, meanwhile is a touching and powerful display of female energy, showcasing a number of inspirational women and capturing their energy.
One of the U.K.'s most exciting producers, Juls has worked with artists including Burna Boy, Mr. Eazi, Not3s, Stefflon Don, and Kojey Radical. His new single links him with Santi, who recently dropped the excellent Mandy and the Jungle, and Tiggs Da Author, whose new mixtape is out this summer.
Speaking to The FADER via email, Juls said: "I wanted to create a visual as an ode to our black women. As the song is also dedicated to Maya Angelou, I also wanted to develop an aesthetic that represented Africa as well and incorporate dance performances, highlighting on black beauty and the power of our African mothers."
