Noah Cyrus goes country on her new single “July”

Noah Cyrus is taking her shot at the family trade.

July 31, 2019

Noah Cyrus has released “July,” a delicate, country-influenced track that’s a dramatic left-turn from the trap-pop she was making as recently as last year. It’s not an unwelcome shift, though — “July” is sweet and airy, a heartbroken ballad that doesn’t try to show off when it doesn’t have to. Instead, Cyrus’ vocals, smokey and wounded, are front-and-centre, multi-part harmonies backing her when she needs some force. Listen to “July” below.

Last year, Cyrus released her Good Cry EP, as well as “Live or Die,” a collaboration with Lil Xan. Per a press release, Cyrus has been working on more music in Los Angeles, and will tour later this year. Read our 2017 Gen F interview with Noah Cyrus here.
