Between Two Ferns is Zach Galifianakis's hilarious chat show in which he has asked famous people weird questions since 2008. Netflix has now got its hands on the surreal chat show and turned it into a movie. You'd be right to be sceptical about whether a six-minute web series can sustain a whole movie but, hey, it's 2019 and nobody cares about that stuff. Plus; if the first trailer for movie is anything to go by, Between Two Ferns: The Movie is going to be very funny indeed.
The trailer begins with Galifianakis accidentally (and not permanently) killing Matthew McConaughey and spirals from there. He is tasked by Will Ferrel with producing 10 new episodes of the chat show in order to get his own late-night show on actual TV. This involves travelling the country interviewing David Letterman, Brie Larson, Jon Hamm, and Benedict Cumberbatch among others. There's a great bit towards the end involving Chrissy Teigen, a hotel bar, and a joke about John Legend's EGOT.
Stars credited as appearing in the movie include Tiffany Haddish (star of multiple Netflix projects) and Chance The Rapper (who'll appear in Netflix's Rhythm + Flow this fall) among many others. Synergy! Check out the trailer above before it lands on Netflix on September 20.
