Insecure creator Issa Rae will bring new show Rap Sh*t to HBO Max, parent company Warner Media has confirmed. That is the working title for a show that will follow a fictional South Florida-based female rap group as they attempt to make it in the music industry.

Rae will executive produce the series and write the pilot, which will debut at an unspecified time after HBO Max launches in May 2020. Rap Sh*t joins an exciting slate of content on the streaming platform, including new episodes of The Boondocks and all of the Studio Ghibli movies.

The new show is one of a raft of projects Rae has in development right now. She is also working on teen drama Sweet Life and Him or Her, a comedy about the romantic life of a bisexual Black man. Earlier this month Atlantic Records announced details of Raedio, a label imprint headed by Rae.
