The Nigerian artist ran through four swoon-worthy renditions of his songs for NPR.

November 18, 2019

Nigerian Afro-fusion artist Burna Boy took his unique sound to a new level on his latest album, the acclaimed African Giant, and got a whole bunch of attention as a result. 2019 has also included an appearance on The Lion King soundtrack, a successful world tour, and now a performance NPR's long-running Tiny Desk Concert series. Burna performed songs from African Giant as well as 2018's Outside, running through "Gbona," "Wetin Man Go Do," "Dangote," and "Ye." It's a remarkably smooth performance, small enough to match the setting but with music too vibrant to be easily confined to one genre or expression of energy. Watch above, and revisit The FADER's interview with Burna Boy here.
