Conor Oberst’s Bright Eyes are plotting something for 2020

A return was teased in a new Instagram post.

Bright Eyes, the beloved indie rock band fronted by Conor Oberst, have stayed quiet since the release of the 2011 album The People's Key. That will change this year — in some form or another — since the band have launched a new Instagram account with a post captioned #BrightEyes2020. There's no information about what could be in works, but the band did undergo a massive six-album reissue campaign in 2016.

Oberst has continued to perform and release music solo since Bright Eyes began its hiatus. Last year, he released a collaborative album with Pheobe Bridgers called Better Oblivion Community Center. Oberst is also a member of the bands Desaparecidos and Monsters of Folk.
