It took six years for Pure X to return with a new album, 2020's excellent self-titled, but we won't have to wait long for more music from the Austin indie rock band: On October 16, they'll share Rare Ecstasy 2009-2019, a collection of unreleased covers, b-sides, and demos from across their career. The first single is a cover of Willie Nelson's "One Day At A Time," a song for pandemic drudgery if there ever was one. Judging from the cover's lo-fi, hazy quality, it's from the band's early days as a music blog favorite. Memories! Hear it above, and read our interview with Pure X here.
