Nigerian singer Tems shared her debut EP, For Broken Ears, on Friday. The project sees the singer oscillate between bouncy Afropop ("Damages") and brooding downtempo tracks ("Interferences," "Higher"), her smooth vocals shifting easily to either side.

"This EP serves as an introduction to my sound as well as a cleansing of the heart for my listeners," Tems said in a statement on the project. "I want my listeners to have a better sense of who I am and also dig a little deeper into the true values of life."

Tems also dropped the video for the upbeat "Damages," the project's first single. In the visuals, viewers follow Tems through a hazy house party as she sings about throwing in the towel on a long-soured relationship. "'Cause I'm done with it now / No more damages, now," she sings on the track. The song serves as the follow-up to her single "These Days," released back in May.
