The upcoming Gorillaz album Song Machine began as a series of one-off collaborations with different artists like The Cure's Robert Smith, ScHoolboy Q, slowthai, and more. The songs all come with animated music videos, and today's is "The Pink Phantom" featuring 6LACK and the one and only Elton John.
Perhaps sensing how ridiculously cool the collaboration is, the music video positions itself as a piano duet between Gorillaz leader 2D (voiced by Damon Albarn) and an animated Elton. Adding a sprinkle of kookiness to the visuals is bassist Murdoc, who plays ghostbuster against the song's titular spirit. Check it out above.
Song Machine is out October 23, and will feature songs with PEGMAFIA, Beck, EARTHGANG, Goldlink, St. Vincent, and many more. It will come in standard, deluxe, and super deluxe editions.
