Japanese Breakfast, a.k.a. Michelle Zauner, pays tribute to cult sci-fi show The X-Files in the video for new song "Be Sweet." The track is the first to be taken from Japanese Breakfast's forthcoming album Jubilee, due June 4 via Dead Oceans. Check out the video below.
Speaking about "Be Sweet" in a press release, former FADER cover star Zauner said: “After spending the last five years writing about grief, I wanted our follow up to be about joy. For me, a third record should feel bombastic and so I wanted to pull out all the stops for this one. I wrote ‘Be Sweet’ with Jack Tatum from Wild Nothing a few years ago. I’ve been holding onto it for so long and am so excited to finally put it out there.”
Jubilee will be the third Japanese Breakfast album and the first since 2017's Soft Sounds From Another Planet. Zauner's debut album Psychopomp was released in 2016. Last year Zauner formed Bumper with Ryan Galloway and released the pop songs 2020 EP.
