Earlier this year post-punk band Squid released Bright Green Field, one of the more innovative and energetic albums a new band has dropped in a minute. Later this month the Warp-signees will head from their native U.K. to North America for a series of live dates. It's their first headline tour on this side of the pond and all of the gigs are sold out. To celebrate, and stoke anticipation of their arrival, the band has shared a cover of Bill Callahan's "America." Check it out below.

Speaking about the decision to cover the song, which first appeared on the former Smog man's 2011 album Apocalypse, Ollie Judge of Squid said: “Earlier in the year we went to Otterhead Studios in the midlands to do some recording as we emerged from lockdown 2.0. We decided to cover some of our favourite tunes and one of them was ‘America!’ by Bill Callahan. We didn’t think that this cover would see the light of day, but we wanted to release something special just in time for us heading over to tour the USA.”
