PUP share new songs, announce 2022 tour dates

“Waiting” and “Kill Something” are both out now.

Canadian punk rock band PUP will embark on a big tour of the United States and Canada next year. Fans of the group's relentless, grin-inducing energy who attend the shows will be able to sing along to two brand new PUP songs, "Waiting" and "Kill Something," out today.

There's a true A-side / B-side situation going on with the new songs: "Waiting" cruises along on chunky, Harley-sized riffs while "Kill Something" attempts to soothe the aggression hangover with a more grungey pace and Conor Oberst-flavored vocal melodies.

PUP's frontman Stefan Babcock shared a few words on "Waiting" in a press statement: “‘Waiting’ came about by smashing the heaviest riff Nestor could write with the simplest, most uplifting chorus I could write, just to see what would happen.

"The results were very quintessentially PUP, in that the song is a flurry of darkness and anger through the joyous lens of four guys just happy to be here, four guys who don’t take themselves seriously enough to make music that doesn’t feel like fun, regardless of the subject matter.”

Listen to "Waiting / Kill Something" below, followed by the full slate of PUP's 2022 tour dates. Tickets will be on pre-sale here tomorrow (November 10) with $1 of each pre-sale ticket donated to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society.

PUP's third album Morbid Stuff was released in 2019 and we called it "one of the most enjoyable punk records of the decade."
