Since Phife Dawg's death in 2016 the world has only heard A Tribe Called Quest's triumphant final album We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service. That album was one of the last things Phife worked on prior to his passing and is an incredible final statement, but he was also putting in time in the studio as he recorded a new solo album. Today, on the sixth anniversary of his death, Phife Dawg's Forever is available to stream. Check it out below.

Forever is only the second Phife Dawg solo album, following 2000's Ventilation: Da LP, and a whole host of big name guests have turned up on the project. Naturally, Tribe's Q-Tip appears on "Dear Dilla," a song dedicated to another great gone too soon. Elsewhere there are appearances from Rapsody, De La Soul’s Posdnous and Maseo, Little Brother, Dwele, and Illa J, among others. Busta Rhymes and Redman appear on an updated version of the J Dilla-produced "Nutshell" which first surfaced in 2016.

Phife Dawg passed away in March 2016 at age 45 from diabetic complications. On March 23, a day after Forever's release, Pete Rosenberg will host a listening session and Q&A at SOBs in New York City.
