Anyone nostalgic for the mixtape era of hip-hop has been eating good this past year. First up, Tyler, The Creator recruited DJ Drama to add a layer of integrity to his stellar 2021 album Call Me If You Got Lost. Next came Dipset member Jim Jones who earlier this year released the lowkey underrated Gangsta Grillz: We Set the Trends. If three makes a trend then J.Cole is making it official because today he and his Dreamville label mates have shared D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape.

D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape arrives ahead of the 2022 Dreamville Festival, which takes place from April 2-3 in Raleigh, North Carolina. The line-up includes WizKid, Kehlani, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, and Fivio Goreign alongside Dreamville artists Ari Lennox, J.I.D., Bas, and Cole himself.

J. Cole and his label have previously shared joint project Revenge of the Dreamers III. Last year, Cole released The Off-Season.
