Do a little bit of digging on SoundCloud and you may find yourself in a museum wing dedicated to Scott Taylor’s cover art. To my knowledge, Taylor isn’t a musician himself, but he feels almost synonymous with the current wave of rap bubbling on SoundCloud because of how often he’s tapped for visuals. Bright and metallic neons, wavy oblongs, and surreal backgrounds turn everyone's raps into hazy, hallucinatory fantasies. Just take a listen to Atlanta rapper MuddyMya’s new EP Eden, which will leave you in a stoned trance faster than an infused Oreo.

“Drugs & Rovers,” my favorite from the five song batch, is a disarmingly sweet song about a failed relationship. “You said it was over, guess I didn’t mean much,” she sighs over the crystalline instrumental produced by Cade, Rio, and Will. MuddyMya shifts from heartbroken croons to don’t-give-a-fuck shrugs without skipping a beat. When your feelings are running as hot as hers are, there’s no time to stop and think.
