Sleep, the beloved stoner metal band, have announced plans to release their 1999 album Dopesmoker on weed-infused vinyl. The band have teamed up with Jack White's Third Man Records for the reissue, which will involve pressing real cannabis leaves into the wax during the printing process.

The “Weedian High-Fi” version will be available exclusively at Third Man’s Detroit store from August 26 while pre-orders for the standard vinyl will also be available on the same day. Additionally, Dopesmoker will return to streaming platforms for the first time since it was removed in February.

Sleep originally disbanded after the release of Dopesmoker, their third album which is sometimes referred to as Jerusalem. The album, originally recorded as one hourlong song, has been released in multiple bootleg versions over the years after the band's original label refused to release it. In 2018 Sleep returned with a fourth album, The Sciences.
