The Biennale performance was composed and directed by Solange playing on "themes of protection, transformation and spiritual transcendence amid Venice’s flood depredations." The monograph features photographs and writing from the rehearsal and performance stages of the show as well as interviews with Solange's band, costume designer, associate director, and more.

Writing about the art book on Instagram, Solange wrote: "It is the most in depth documentation of my process and relationship with performance, but more than that, it celebrates all of the incredible collaborators who make the work exist."

Solange's last album When I Get Home was released in 2019. More recently it was announced that she will premiere her first original score for ballet at New York City Ballet’s Fall Fashion Gala. Her piece will accompany the first performance of a currently untitled piece choreographed by Gianna Reisen and costumed by Alejandro Gómez Palomo at the September 28 event, hosted at Lincoln Center by Ruinart Champagne.
