Maya Jane Coles drops “Freefall” featuring Moxie Knox
The underground electronic artist releases the single on her own I/AM/ME imprint.
Multi-genre electronic act Maya Jane Coles is back before the end of the year with her new single “Freefall” featuring New York R&B singer-songwriter Moxie Knox. The song dropped via Coles own record label, I/AM/ME.
The catchy house tune exemplifies why the producer is dubbed the “first lady of electronic underground,” showcasing Knox’s incredible voice with her seductive four-on-the-floor beat. “Moxie’s vocals were a dream to work with, definitely one of my favourite tracks I’ve worked on this year,” Coles says in a statement.
Moxie gives insight on the track with an exclusive quote to The FADER, saying, “If you’ve ever doubted yourself or thought about quitting the very thing that makes you feel the most alive, this song is for you. The lyrics came to me in a dream, and I felt compelled to bring them to life. I wrote the song to ‘songwriting’ itself.”
“Freefall” was released alongside two remixes from two underground producers, Zero FG and Ruff Style. Listen to those, the original track, and a radio edit below.
