In press materials Ware says that "Pearls," which was written alongside Stuart Price, Sarah Hudson, and Coffee "doesn’t take itself too seriously but demands you to have a dance.” She adds that it was "inspired by divas like Donna Summer, Evelyn Champagne King, Teena Marie, and Chaka Khan.” The album, Ware adds, “stems from over 10 years of understanding who I am, and who I enjoy being as an artist and the thrill of performance.”

That Feels Good! also includes Ware's 2022 single “Free Yourself”.
