Olivia Rodrigo has dropped the second single from her forthcoming album GUTS. “Bad Idea Right?" was written about an ill-advised decision to go back to an ex-partner and comes with a new video directed by Petra Collins. Check that out below. The song will appear on Guts, Rodrigo's second album, which is out on September 8.
“‘Bad Idea Right?’ started with us making a joke song about me hooking up with an ex-boyfriend, but then we realized we were actually onto something,” Rodrigo said in a statement. “We were throwing the weirdest things at the wall—in one of choruses there’s a part that sounds like an instrument in the background, but it’s me gradually screaming louder and louder.”
The latest single from Rodrigo follows “Vampire,” which was released in June. GUTS is the follow-up to Rodrigo's breakout smash 2021 album Sour.
