boygenius have shared a new visual for "Cool About It," a single that appeared in their debut album, the record, which dropped earlier this year. It's the first animated video directed by Lauren Tsai, who displays the connection between a dog and their toy through the delicate drawings.
“'Cool About It' is a beautifully melancholic and piercing song that puts words to feelings often unexplained," Tsai said in a press statement. "It is an absolute dream to collaborate with the genius that is boygenius. I made animated videos on YouTube when I was 11 and I cannot imagine something I’d lose my mind over more if I could go back in time and tell myself. I will always be grateful to the band for the many ways in which their work has affected my life.” Watch the video below.
Alongside releasing the record, the supergroup made up of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker have been using 2023 to perform live, going on a spring tour as well as appearing at festivals like Coachella and All Things Go. In June, fans created a rainbow light show in the crowd for Pride Month while the band performed "Cool About It" at the Toronto stop.
