Ms. Lauryn Hill was the headline act at New York's Global Citizen festival on Saturday night and she brought her Fugees bandmates on stage as a surprise. Hill recently announced a 25th anniversary tour of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill which will feature Fugees as the opening act.
Hill played a handful of Miseducation... classics at Global Citizen, including "Ex-Factor" and "Everything Is Everything." She was then joined by Pras and Wyclef Jean to run through their Fugees hits “Killing Me Softly,” “Ready or Not” and “Fu-Gee-La.” See below for footage from the night.
Fugees previously shared the stage together at Roots Picnic in Philadelphia in June. In 2021 they had been scheduled to embark on a full The Score anniversary tour but canceled the run of dates after first postponing them due to the pandemic.
In April, Pras Michel was convicted of federal conspiracy charges. He faces 20 years in prison after being found guilty of crimes including conspiracy, campaign finance violations, money laundering, illegal lobbying, witness tampering, and acting as an agent of a foreign government without registering as one.
The Fugees and Hill's tour dates are due to begin in Newark, NJ, on October. 17. See below for their full schedule.
