evilgiane taps Anycia and Robb Bank$ for new song “Basic”
The Surf Gang leader continues his stellar 2023 run with his latest collab.
evilgiane has the potential for pure insanity behind the boards, but he’s been taking a more minimal approach lately. His latest production, a two-and-a-half-minute track titled “Basic,” continues in this vein, with a muted trap beat setting the stage for masterfully nonchalant performances from Anycia and Robb Bank$. Anycia’s two verses sandwich Robb’s single, 24-bar run, her raspy flow fitting perfectly in the pocket of giane’s instrumental.
2023 has been a banner year from evilgiane, who’s produced standout tracks for Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem (“The Hillbillies”) and Earl Sweatshirt (“Making The Band (Danity Kane)”) — not to mention countless cuts for his extended Surf Gang family. “idgaf,” his recent collaboration with Nettspend and xaviersobased, is a certified Song You Need.
