Rosalía is sharpening her sword.
The new video for "La Perla," displays the Spanish superstar in a variety of protective settings: she's fencing, suiting up in full hockey gear and prancing around with some cute, but ferocious dogs.
The cinematically striking music video, directed by frequent collaborator Stillz, plays into the song's contrasting approach; it sounds sweet, but its lyrics intonate something more cutting. Throughout the track, Rosalía refers to her unnamed lover as an "emotional terrorist," a "thief of peace," and a "playboy." It's clear, based on the video, that she's prepared for the emotional battle ahead.
The Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer captured the world's attention with her divine new album, Lux.
Standout track, "La Perla," immediately caught fans' ears for it's not so subtle references to what many believed to be her ex, Reggaeton superstar Rauw Alejandro.
The couple's split blanketed tabloids after they called off their engagement in 2023. Given that they are both two of the biggest names in global music, this new music video is sure to add yet another chapter to this long story.
The new music video comes in the lead up to Rosalía's highly anticipated Lux tour, which begins in March in Lyon, France, before spanning across Europe, North America, and South America.
