7 more xaviersobased songs you need in your life Jonathan Mannion / The FADER

xaviersobased is an underground rapper from New York's Upper West Side who pioneered jerk music alongside his collective 1c. He just dropped his debut album XAVIER and he’s also The FADER’s newest cover star. Here are seven more songs to bump after reading.

xaviersobased & StudyGroup, "Victoria's Secret"

You could consider producer collective StudyGroup a subset of xavier's 1c crew; take a look through his discography and you'll find plenty of credits for reklus1ve, mag, and cranes. On "Victoria's Secret," the pulsing beat pushes xavier into more melodic territory as he picks up fragrances for himself and thongs for his girl at the titular store.

Che & xaviersobased, "BLEAU"

It's honestly criminal this song has yet to see an official release. Initially released as a loosie promo for the deluxe edition of REST IN BASS, this garbled Che collab is bruising and immediate. It feels like replacing your brain with a snowglobe full of rocks and I can't get enough.

ST6 JodyBoof & xaviersobased, "1C34TMS"

DMV rap can be an insular scene, surprisingly isolated from other hubs of the hip-hop economy. ST6 Jodyboof is part of the TooManyStrikers collective with some of The FADER's favorite artists (Jaeychino, Dragnutz, and kuru, among others). As you might glean from the title, this xaviersobased collab is a tribute to their respective crews, but it also speaks to the DMV's rising importance in American hip-hop at large.

Nettspend & xaviersobased, "idgaf"

Before xaviersobased and Nettspend linked up with Evilgiane on #HEAVENSGATEVOL.1, the trio cut this woozy bop alongside StudyGroup producer cranes. It reminds me a bit of xavier and Nett's 2025 collab "Impact," but less hyperactive.

xaviersobased, "double whammy"

xaviersobased premiered this song as part of Song Wars with Plaqueboymax. Let's just say the oldheads did NOT get it. Of the myriad jerk songs in the xaviersobased discography, "double whammy" is the one I find easiest to imagine miraculously worming its way onto radio thanks to its clear mixing and endlessly catchy hook.

xaviersobased, "love hate"

If Chief Keef made a Milwaukee low-end song, it might sound like "love hate," which has soundtracked a ridiculous number of TikToks in the past 18 months.

xaviersobased, "need me"

Consider this xaviersobased's answer to "Long Time" by Playboi Carti. It sounds like summiting a mountaintop or rolling up a blunt after a hard day's work. More than anything, it's an uncannily tender ballad to believing in yourself and swag that stretches beyond brand names.
