I’ve never planned my life around a horoscope, but I enjoy astrology as a meditative practice. I find astrological charts mesmerizing, and reading someone’s birth chart is a fun party trick. The idea that the planets could influence our day to day fits my semi-secular lifestyle perfectly fine, mainly because I’m not going to do that much about it anyway. Likewise, this zodiac playlist mirrors distant planetary movements, but the main goal is bringing you a monthly roundup of great music you haven’t heard yet.

Aries season kicks off March 20 and will see some major transits. What’s a transit? Thanks for asking: it’s the path a planet takes through the sky as seen from Earth. As celestial bodies move at different speeds across the sky, they shift from one sign of the zodiac to the next.

In astrology, different planets rule different categories of our lives (transportation, relationships, luck, etc), and whatever sign they’re in at the moment can influence our lives in different ways. And if the combination of 12 zodiac signs and nine planets (yes, Pluto still counts) wasn’t enough, these different transits can intersect and interact with each other as well. But that’s getting too deep in the weeds; what you really need to know is that this Aries season — with Mercury turning direct on the spring equinox, a Venus-Chiron conjunction, a full moon in Libra, and some unusual transit interactions — will require some real discipline and tact to keep bursts of energy and confidence from spiraling into manic excess.

Read on for a closer look at the horoscope for Aries season 2026 and a playlist featuring underscores, Iceage, MIKE, Latto, Rustie, smush, Jaeychino, Nettspend, Ebril, RRoxket, Six Sex, Kuru, Thirteendegrees, Happydranker, and more.

Sun enters Aries (March 20)

What it means: Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac, so this transit kicks off the astrological new year. As you might expect, the season has a fiery kickstarter energy. Today also marks the spring equinox and the end of a surprisingly short
Mercury retrograde. It’s a great time for a fresh start, so go get after it.
What to listen to: “Asthma” by Rroxket, “Business & Personal (Intro)” by Latto, “sneaky” by Evilgiane & Happydranker

Venus Conjunct Chiron (March 26)

What it means: Chiron is a minor planet orbiting somewhere between Saturn and Uranus. Though it’s a tiny celestial object, its astrological influence is outsize, related to inner wounds. Its conjunction with Venus, ruler of romance, might resurface old heartbreaks and insecurities, asking us to face our pain in order to heal.

Full moon in Libra (April 1)

What it means: Represented by scales, Libra is a sign that’s all about balance. Meanwhile, the moon rules over our subconscious as it does the tides. Together, this transit speaks to our feelings around fairness and justice, in our personal relationships and beyond. Full moons are a good time for emotional and physical release: try journaling or spring cleaning.
What to listen to: “Minty” by MIKE & Surf Gang, “Black Sheep” by Sk8star, “Summer Night Joori” by Ebril

Sun in Aries squares Jupiter in Cancer (April 5)

What it means: Jupiter rules over luck, adventure, and wealth, but also excess. When it squares the sun, that tension yields high-energy, which doesn’t always find the healthiest outlets. But it’s not all bad, even if we’re suffering from delusions of grandeur: things might feel hard, but thanks to Jupiter being in Cancer, luck will be on our side.
What to listen to: “Star” by Iceage, “perfect” by beige & Bruxely!, “DWNTWN LUV” by Thirteendegrees

Mars enters Aries (April 9)

What it means: Mars influences action, impulses, stamina, and sex, and boy does this red planet love being at home in Aries, supercharged and raring to go. An early conjunction with Neptune and Saturn will make the first half of April more stressful, so finding ways to work through our less gracious impulses will be important.

Mercury conjunct Neptune in Aries (April 16)

What it means: Mercury rules over communication, and when it links up with dreamy Neptune, words cut deep. Especially under the blazing influence of Aries, it’s a good time to watch your tongue, or hold it entirely.
What to listen to: “AMENTET” by Rustie, “Ultra Terrorific Fantasy” by Six Sex, “sick” by Nettspend
