On January 30, a newly released portion of the Epstein files revealed Casey Wasserman, CEO of talent management agency Wasserman Group, previously had a close email correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein's accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.

In a statement, Wasserman said, "I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light. I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein."

Now artists under Wasserman Music are calling for his resignation; some are even leaving the agency entirely. The FADER first covered this story last week, and Wasserman Group has since taken their artist roster off their website. Late Sunday, The Wrap reported that some insiders had demanded Wasserman exit the company. Wasserman also serves as the chairman for the LA28 Olympics organizing committee and some LA city councilmembers have called for him to be ousted from that position as well.

Here are all the artists that have called for Casey Wasserman to step down.

"As of today I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman," Chappell Roan announced on social media Monday evening February 9. "I hold my teams to the highest standard and have a duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values."

Water From Your Eyes

"Casey Wasserman [...] is a close associate of the world's most vile and repugnant social circle and human trafficking network -- not to mention his unwavering support of the genocidal Israeli state. His 'deepest regrets' and PR apologies mean nothing in the wake of violence against women and children caused by Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and their accomplices. There must be accountability for the atrocities committed by the ruling class," Brooklyn-based two-piece Water From Your Eyes said on Instagram. The band said they are, "waiting to understand what our options are" when it comes to departing from Wasserman Music, which has represented the duo since 2024.

"i'm looking to leave wassermann btw," British electronic producer salute tweeted on Saturday, February 7. In a followup, he posted, "brother i did not know casey wasserman even existed until last week."

Wednesday

"We find Casey's attempts to deflect and dismiss this situation deeply troubling," indie rockers Wednesday said in a statement on social media. "For the sake of his staff we hope he steps down from the company and it is rebranded, but until that happens or we find a new home at a new agency we will not continue to be associated with Wasserman."

Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast

On Thursday, February 5, Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast posted an open letter to Wasserman Music on her Instagram. She said in part, "Casey's response, that these emails are “deeply regretted,” is not enough. Regret without accountability is just damage control - an attempt to move on while the rest of us are expected to sit with the discomfort of our careers being publicly tied to him. Artists are tired of swallowing scandals like this."

Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells

"Do I wish I could burn it all down, boycott and divest? Sure I do. But to be totally honest, I can't afford to. My band can't afford to," Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells said in a statement posted to Instagram Monday, February 9. In her statement, she called on "multimillion and billionaire artists" to speak out against Wasserman. Krauss also emphasized that many artists might not have the luxury of taking their music off Spotify or never supporting LiveNation or Ticketmaster. "Call me spineless but this is my truth. This is the hypocrisy of our reality as we try to do the least harm in an unscrupulous system. [...] What we need is greater regulation and accountability at the highest levels of the industry."
