Lana Del Rey has shared a snippet from "White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter," the first single from her highly anticipated new album, Stove.
Lana shared a video on Instagram composed of black and white home footage that shows her dressed in a summery tank top while snow falls around her.
The song snippet opens with a sample that sounds akin to the unsettling opening theme to the 1950s-60s-horror series, The Twilight Zone. The track then cuts to a minimalist beat which features muted percussive guitar, droney mechanical ambiance, string accents, and, of course, Lana.
Lana is not singing on the snippet, but rather half-rapping in a whisper. It's a vocal mode that's reminiscent of her performance on her memorable Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd single, "A&W."
"He's my white feather-hawk tail deer hunter / Likes to keep me cool in the hot breeze summer / Likes to push me on this green John Deere mower," she says softly on "White Feather." She soon after says a line — "In the dark, snap, crackle, pop" — that will surely remind fans of "A&W's" most memorable (and memed) lyric, also a semi-rapped cereal reference: "Jimmy, Jimmy, cocoa puff, Jimmy, Jimmy ride."
Lana shared some info about the single in a now-deleted February 2026 video on Instagram (that was reposted by Stereogum). She said that "White Feather" is coming February 17 and then shared details on its credits.
"Did the strings, a little bit of production with Drew Erickson," she shared. "Dean Reid mixed it, Laura Sisk mixed it a little bit as well, and Jack Antonoff and I did it together. Finally found that magical chord that I was missing. Also my brother-in-law Jason Pickens, my sister Chuck Grant, and [my husband] Jeremy [Dufrene] wrote it with me as well."
