Montreal indie rockers Cola will release their third album Cost of Living Adjustment in less than two months, and they’ll be hitting the road this summer to perform across Europe and the U.S. behind the new record. They also dropped “Conflagration Mindset” this week, the second single from the project following last month’s “Hedgesitting.”
“Conflagration Mindset” was inspired by the 2025 wildfires in Los Angeles, which caused a house fire at lead singer Tim Darcy’s home. “When you go through something like that, people come out of the woodwork and share their stories with you,” Darcy said in a press release. “Because of that it's really a song about the nature of loss in general.”
Cola is the trio of Darcy, Ben Stidworthy, and Evan Cartwright. Darcy and Stidworthy previously played together in the band Ought, and founded Cola in 2021 alongside Cartwright. Cost of Living Adjustment is the band’s follow-up to 2024’s The Gloss. In a press release, Cartwright described the album as “deepening what we’ve been doing.”
