‘Heated Rivalry’ soundtrack: Vinyl details, track list, and release date

Heated Rivalry-mania continues unabated: soon fans of the series will be able to listen to its beloved, techno-inflected soundtrack on vinyl and CD formats.

The Crave Original Canadian series about the star-crossed, secret love between two major hockey stars, Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), gained a global super-fandom upon its release on HBO Max. It quickly transformed Williams and Storrie into household names, and minted new cultural canon moments via steamy scenes at the infamous "cottage," and a climactic, on-ice kiss.

Much of these memed and debated HR moments were set to a score composed by Canadian singer-songwriter, producer and composer Peter Peter (Peter Jones). Certain tracks in the soundtrack, like "Rivalry," have become meme-fodder on their own, with creators using it as the music for their icy thirst traps, Iliya and Shane lookalike contests, and fan edits for everything from Harry Potter to Sex And The City.

The vinyl and CD formats, available for pre-order now, will arrive on July 10 (the sound track is already available to stream here). The phyiscal variants will include Peter Peter's score, alongside beloved needle drops from series by Wolf Parade, Feist, Wet Leg, and more

The soundtrack's vinyl variant will come in two forms: the wide Montreal v. Boston Edition and a specialty Icy Inferno Edition, available exclusively on the Milan Records website and select Sony Music D2C retailers. The Montreal v. Boston Edition features two discs colored in the hues of HR's fictional teams, in Montreal Metros’ Blue and Red, and Boston Raiders’ Black/Yellow. The Icy Inferno Edition will have transparent, clear discs. Both variants will include two HR trading cards, a poster, and liner notes by show creator Jacob Tierney. The album’s CD format will include imagery from the series and a poster with credits and liner notes from Tierney.
