Have you ever wished M.I.A. could be your metaphysical guide to the higher powers that be? You're in luck, because she says her upcoming album M.I.7 is a gospel album "in spirit."
M.I.A. says her latest album will be out on April 17 via her own independent label OHMNIMUSIC. Listen to lead single "EVERYTHING" on your preferred streaming service here, and see the full M.I.7 album tracklist below.
In a press release, M.I.A. said the seven track album was recorded in seven days between London, L.A., Ethiopia, Egypt, India, and Australia, and that the album explores her own relationship with Christianity. That makes sense considering her 2025 singles "Armour" and "SAFE," which also explored Biblical themes (I'm partial to the latter).
Somewhat surprisingly, the press release also says M.I.A.'s new album "leaves politics at the door," a sentence I never thought I would read. Instead, M.I.7 is "more intimate, more ancestral, [and] more existential" than the artist's previous work.
M.I.A will tour the U.S. alongside KiD CuDi from late Spring through early summer. See those dates below.
