In 2025, New York City's iconic rock/punk venue CBGB debuted as a music festival. This year, CBGB festival will return to the city on Saturday, September 26, at Under the K Bridge Park in Brooklyn, NY. Morissey, Patti Smith, Interpol, Sex Pistols, Bikini Kill, Mannequin Pussy, Militarie Gun, and more are all slated to perform.
The original venue CBGB was founded in 1973 and became the launch pad for the careers of dozens of legendary punk and rock artists including Ramones, Blondie, Pattie Smith, Talking Heads, Television, and more. The venue closed in 2006. In 2012, it briefly relaunched as a festival, though one that is different from its current iteration.
