Oliver Tree is reportedly dead at 32 from helicopter collision

Oliver Tree has reportedly died from a helicopter collision that took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, early Sunday morning, according to breaking news reports from CNN Brazil and TMZ, citing the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro. The FADER has reached out to representatives of the singer to confirm the news independently. Tree was 32 years old.
The singer was in the middle of a world tour and had performed in São Paulo, Brazil, on June 6. He was scheduled to continue his tour in Europe in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 1. Tree was among six passengers who died in the collision, according to Brazilian media. Among the other victims was popular Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim, more popularly known as Gaspi, with 2.5 million followers on Instagram.
Tree broke out in 2017 when his song "When I'm Down" went viral on TikTok, and he subsequently signed to Atlantic Records. He followed that with a string of viral singles including 2021's "Life Goes On" and 2022's "Miss You" remix with Robin Schulz. He was known for his extensive world-building and the zany character he embodied for his songs and music videos.
Tree released his most recent album, Love You Madly, Hate You Badly, in April.
