When The FADER pulled up to the Nike Football TOMA National Finals last weekend, we knew Travis Scott was coming out to surprise fans. What we didn't expect was how seriously people showed out for the first Nike TOMA event in NYC: everyone from born-and-bred locals to travelers from as far away as Toronto and Los Angeles.
The players were showing out on the rain-slick pitch too, fearlessly slipping and slide tackling with abandon. They chased every ball and clapped in each others’ faces, clearly here to win. That energy was mirrored by the crowd, who roared with palpable enthusiasm for every rainbow flick, maradona, and cryuff turn.
