The closer to L.A.-based, Beirut-born artist Thoom’s mixtape Everyday, Everything Is At Stake is a minimal piece of pop melodrama about homesickness. It’s haunted, though, by the brutalities of the war that has torn apart the country of her birth. Its chorus is a simple but devastating chain of questions: “Did the summer end? / Is it war again? / Am I going back to Lеbanon?” — TH
